CRs TO LAUNCH LETTER TO THE EDITOR DRIVE
College Republicans across the state will be sending letters to the editor
each week in support of Republican candidates all throughout the summer. If
you are willing and able to participate, please send your email to
[email protected] You will be provided with instructions and talking points
each week. Letters to the editor are crucial because they are one of the
most commonly read parts of the paper and because they are used to gauge
public opinion and support.

MCR ANNUAL RETREAT
The MCR Annual Retreat will be held in Hutchinson, MN - August 23 & 24. This
weekend will be a great time of relaxing before heading back to school, but
more importantly of crucial training for our election operations. It is
absolutely crucial that all club chairs attend so that you can learn about
the statewide effort to elect a Republican governor and senator. Food,
lodging and professional training are all totally free. Send in the
attached brochure or email MCR Executive Director Meghan Shea at
[email protected]

GO BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE STATE CONVENTION
The only way to go behind the scenes of the state convention, the biggest
political event of the year, is to be a volunteer for the Republican Party
of MN. Nationally-known speakers are expected and this is the only way to see them if you are
not a delegate or alternate. Unfortunately, only people who are not delegates or alternates are
eligible to be volunteers. Hotel accomodations may be available by request. Email
[email protected] or call the MCR office at(651) 842-0111 if you are interested.

STILL LOOKING FOR A SUMMER JOB?
Several job opportunities are available for the summer. As with most
political jobs, they are a lot of hours for low pay. Call the MCR office if
you're interested. 651-842-0111.

REDISTRICTING INCREASES THE INFLUENCE OF THE COLLEGE REPUBLICANS
When new Congressional district lines were drawn Tuesday, three new swing
districts, each containing multiple CR chapters were created. It has
suddenly become even more crucial that we work incredibly hard this fall to
win votes for Republican candidates. With the help of the College
Republicans, the good guys can very realistically win two more congressional
seats, and controlling five of the eight.
