What: Minnesota College Republican student activists will be waving huge banners that highlight Barack Obama’s recent comments on energy. The banners also ask commuters to honk if their tires are properly inflated.

When: 4:00-4:30pm, TODAY

Where: pedestrian bridge immediately West of Snelling Ave spanning Interstate 94 in Minneapolis-St. Paul midway stretch. (Can be accessed from St. Anthony Ave to the North or Concordia Ave to the South)

Minnesota College Republicans Hold Rally in Opposition to Barack Obama

Students highlight Obama's "deflated" energy plan

Saint Paul – Today, the Minnesota College Republicans held a rally in opposition to Senator Barack Obama at his high-dollar fundraiser at the Minneapolis Hilton Hotel. Students gathered to bring attention to Obama's recent comments on energy by distributing tire pressure gauges, as well as by holding two larger-than-life gauges that read “Obama’s Energy Plan.” The Minnesota College Republicans also released a web video relating to the issue, titled “Test Drive.”

“Barack Obama’s solution to high gas prices is telling Americans to make sure their tires are inflated. A strong energy plan is critical to the future and security of our nation, and as the future of this nation – we know that Obama’s plan is full of hot air. Unlike Obama, John McCain’s comprehensive energy plan is exactly what Americans are looking for; relief at the pump combined with aggressive alternative energy development and tapping into existing resources. John McCain has real solutions to break our dependence on foreign oil,” said MNCR State Chair Bethany Dorobiala.
